Amelie & Me Performance 2

Finding inspiration through re-watching French film Amelie. If you’ve seen the film you’ll know it’s shot in an incredibly beautiful and unique way. The colour palette, the intriguing angles, the attention that I feel focussed on the senses, it came across to me like sensory overload - which those with ADHD and other ND (neurodivergent) people can experience. As well as the sensory pleasures & attention to detail. I’m seeing a film which draws attention to colour, sounds, textures in a way that I experience the world and I don’t think I can think of many other films that focus on this. It made me wonder if the film director or the character Amelie could be ND.

Feel yourself be taken to Paris with this beautiful set up of the colour pallete reminiscent of the film. This performance was largely focussed on the touch and kinaesthetic experiences. Intriguing & unexpected angles, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did creating it.
